OK if you're like me and you got some cool new widget/gadget/gear for christmas and you want to get out on your mountain bike to test it out but don't want to drive to Fruita or Moab, and/or you're funked out because Ullr hasn't been blessing us wit
h powder days recently, have no fear. Boneyard and Redneck Ridge are riding very well, as well as the Pool/Ice Rink Trail. The trails are intermittent packed snow or dirt, no special equipment required, although I recommend going with the fatter knobbier tires in your quiver. I rode them yesterday with 2.3s, super fun, surprisingly good traction, nice packed out concave path. While the Town of Eagle Open Space trails are off-limits, you can still enjoy plenty of fun single track in East Eagle which is open year round for mountain bikes, snowshoes, xc skiing, or trail running. Enjoy!
Howdy HTC Team—Our next HTC meeting is this Monday at 6 pm at the Town of Eagle Hearing room. Our new TOE Open Space Manager John Staight will be there to meet us and host our maps and BLM map alternatives up on the big screen.
We want to fo
cus on our comment letter to BLM, this meeting should be an hour, just focusing on the BLM RMP draft and finalizing our comments.
Thanks all and thanks to everyone who rallied to rough in the Kaibab Connector Trail Nov. 19th. It’s the only trail work day I’ve done where I only used a pulaski. We need to do a little additional work but the trail is close.
Also to simplify meeting schdules, at the last meeting the direction was to schedule our meetings the first Monday of each month, and cancel if need be but keep a standing monthly meeting date. Let me know if that generally works for you.
Thanks again and see you Monday 6 pm. at the Town Hall,
