The Hardscrabble Trails Coalition and Vail Mountain Bike Association are parterning with the U.S. Forest Service to develop and establish a new section of singletrack trail on Hardscrabble Mountain. This Sunday’s initial outing will focus on
roughing in new sections of this trail located in the Sawmill Gulch area. For those interested in participating:
What – Sawmill Gulch singletrack will be approximately 3.25 miles of high elevation singletrack on Hardscrabble Mountain. Work day is anticipated to last approximately 4 hours, all are welcome to stay as little or as long as their time permits.
Who – Anyone interested in seeing new singletrack trails developed in the area. Everyone is welcome from trail newbies to experienced trail builders. Please forward this email, Facebook, Twitter to any / all you think might be interested in helping.
When – 8:00 am Sunday August 5th, rain or shine. Should arrive at actual work site approximately 1 hour later.
Where – Mountain Pedaler in Eagle (101 E. 2nd St). The plan is to depart Mountain Pedaler at 8:00 am and carpool up to the lower trailhead on Sawmill Spur. If you’re coming separate / later, head up Hardscrabble road and continue past the Pipeline entrance / past the Wolverton entrance / keep going straight on all the way past the first split in the road. The trail head will be on the left side approximately a half a mile later.
Bring – Bring water, food, gloves, sunscreen, hats, sturdy shoes. Tools will be provided, but extras (shovels / pics / hoes genre) are always welcome.
